And a pager! Most all of ya'll should know about this hip-hop duo that hails from Chi-town and big Detroit, but if you haven't The Cool Kids are aptly described by themselves as, "the new black version of the Beastie Boys". The Bake Sale cemented Mikey Rocks & Chuck Inglish as a group to watch for years to come. What separates these guys from the rest of the pack is their ability to preform & produce under any genre, as seen in their work with other artists such as Maroon 5 and one of my personal fav's The Bloody Beetroots. Even better yet The Cool Kids will be coming through Columbia on Nov, 6th with Kid Sister! Best $15 ticket in town if you ask me.

One of the first DJ's I discovered when I began blog hunting back @ The Docking Station, this phenom has been terrorizing the Toronto scene for years and has been churning out original mixes along with rediculous remix's at a frenzied pace. Check this guys myspace for a plethora of awesome music, his discography includes over 100 tracks! His popularity has been growing, so I hope you help in supporting the man so he can start some world-wide touring. I can't wait till he's in the U.S. I would pay a pretty penny to see him throw it down live. Check out this video for his new release Whisper along with some of my favorite tracks, Hump Day!

After a unprepared psych test and a night of academics @ Ellis Library I feel a lot like this egg. Not in the mood for anything too hardcore I'm really feelin my Heads Will Roll rmx's, La Roux, and Hot Chip atm (at the moment, excuse the WoW speak) either way its about time to call it a night, live & love life people, the week will be over soon enough.

We've already posted a nice selection of Jack Beats work here at the zou, but this Radio One mix found floating around several blogs contains a litany of the duo's upcoming bangers, including a fire Mars RMX that will be out soon, you can catch the preview @ their myspace here. On top of that they threw down a track I have been itching to hear in full, Lee Mortimer and Laidback Luke's "Blau"
While I was lucky enough to hear the team of Beni G of Mixologists & Plus One of Scratch tear up the underground @ Hard Summer I think they might have out done themselves at Hard NY, those videos just seem unreal. This Month: Dallas
Last Saturday ATB preformed in Dallas at the world famous Lizard Lounge and on Thursday Armin Van Buuren will be there. On the 24th Tiesto is DJing at The Palladium Ballroom in Dallas and Deadmau5 will be at The House of Blues on November 6th. These songs are my favorites by each of these artists.

Passing By Behind Your Eyes
That's the title of the third release by the group hailing from Colorado, Pretty Lights! I had the pleasure of seeing these fine folks at EDC last year, as their name suggests the sights are as important as the sounds when they throw down. I'm a sucker for a well thought out light set to go along with the music and these guys certainly know how to make it mesh. Their sound is three parts jam band, a little STS9 feel, one part Glitch Mob with samples from the likes of Biggie and others. A perfect combination in this bloggers opinion.
