My christmas wishes have definitely been answered, after quite a break Le Castle Vania finally has some new tracks. True to form the first sounds a bit like 'The Messiah', which I highly recommend you add to your collection if you haven't already.

While stumbling around today across the blogs I came across a few dubstep tracks with some heavy reggae roots, who doesn't love that! First is a Rusko bomb that i never saw coming, the 2 others come from a fellow Californian 6blocc. Speaking of California I'm another 5 days away from sunny home and away from this dreadful cold. There's a chance of snow tonight?!? Not down. Anyways back to the music, 6blocc has been featured on Bassnectar's (who I'm seeing on friday) "Art of Revolution" and 6blocc also just released his album "Terminus" a purchase I highly recommend if these genre's appeal to you. Here's the tunes..
Soundguy Is My Target - Rusko ft. Lutan Fyah
6blocc - To The People (Ft. Pow Shadow)
6blocc - Rawer (Ft. Big Daddy Kane)

Crookers have always been a favorite of mine, I'm always impressed with how they reinvent their signature sound. Sure Day N' Night got out played more than you would believe, but their body of work definitely speaks for itself. Enjoy

"I think a lot of people are going to be surprised with the fact that there's a bunch of raw hip-hop records on there," according to A-Trak. "It's not all up tempo clubby stuff. I think a lot of people are going to be impressed with her growth also because when she made a lot of the records that people have heard by now, she was just starting to rap." Kid Sister's new album Ultraviolet is about to drop and there has already been a lot of hype for a long time. DJs have been hitting up this album and creating some great remixes. I saw Kid Sister live about a week ago and despite the unenthusiastic crowd her performance was quite good. There were some problems with audibility at the beginning, but that was fixed. She wasn't as lively as I had wished, but I'll blame that on the crowd. Check her out if you haven't already and remember to get the new Kid Sister CD on November 17th.
Kid Sister - Right Hand Hi (Kill The Noise Remix)
Kid Sister - Right Hand Hi (Caspa Remix)
Kid Sister - Control
Kid Sister - Get Fresh
Kid Sister - Get Fresh (The Starters Remix)
Kid Sister - Pro Nails (Rusko Remix)

I came across this website called Rave Archive. It has a massive amount of classic mix tapes by an array of DJs. The DJs range from Flex to DJ Dan to Andy C and more. Also this website includes a section for old magazines from as far back as 92'. There is a forum section too in which some very knowledgeable people post about pretty much everything related to "the scene." Includes a lot of UK material, but also a good amount of US stuff. Check it out and see if you like it.

In memory of how sick Fuzzy Festival was last year, some Stupid Fresh is in order. They have a distinct fidget sound that works in every song they come out with. If your going this year I would highly recommend hitting up Le Castle Vania. His tracks are amazing anytime but hes definitely a scene kid that can shred live.

DZ has one of the most grimy sounds I've heard in a while. He has a sick spin on his remixes as well. If you live in texas hit him up in december, for everyone else sadly he's not playing any shows anytime soon.

I just found out that all my posts from the other day all went to the same link!! Unacceptable. I've fixed the links and encourage everyone to check them out again, especially those mixes!

Who knew Mizzou knew how to party? This past Wednesday Mizzou hosted their second flash rave in as many years. The concept was new to me, the music starts, people dance, and 30 min later its over. I'll be honest when I say I wasn't expecting much, I thought it would be a good opportunity to give the gloves a work out if nothing else, (pictured above) but DJ Z had other plans when he hit the turntables. Dropping Riverside, Moombah, Zombie Nation, Deadmau5's Moar Ghosts N' Whatever, and a lovely LMFAO remix of Boom Boom Pow I hadn't heard yet, it turned out to be an event that really made my week.

One of the first DJ's I discovered when I began blog hunting back @ The Docking Station, this phenom has been terrorizing the Toronto scene for years and has been churning out original mixes along with rediculous remix's at a frenzied pace. Check this guys myspace for a plethora of awesome music, his discography includes over 100 tracks! His popularity has been growing, so I hope you help in supporting the man so he can start some world-wide touring. I can't wait till he's in the U.S. I would pay a pretty penny to see him throw it down live. Check out this video for his new release Whisper along with some of my favorite tracks, Hump Day!

After a unprepared psych test and a night of academics @ Ellis Library I feel a lot like this egg. Not in the mood for anything too hardcore I'm really feelin my Heads Will Roll rmx's, La Roux, and Hot Chip atm (at the moment, excuse the WoW speak) either way its about time to call it a night, live & love life people, the week will be over soon enough.

We've already posted a nice selection of Jack Beats work here at the zou, but this Radio One mix found floating around several blogs contains a litany of the duo's upcoming bangers, including a fire Mars RMX that will be out soon, you can catch the preview @ their myspace here. On top of that they threw down a track I have been itching to hear in full, Lee Mortimer and Laidback Luke's "Blau"

That's the title of the third release by the group hailing from Colorado, Pretty Lights! I had the pleasure of seeing these fine folks at EDC last year, as their name suggests the sights are as important as the sounds when they throw down. I'm a sucker for a well thought out light set to go along with the music and these guys certainly know how to make it mesh. Their sound is three parts jam band, a little STS9 feel, one part Glitch Mob with samples from the likes of Biggie and others. A perfect combination in this bloggers opinion. Hit up Pretty Lights Music for a free download of their entire collection. Below is a sample of the new CD and some older favorites, enjoy, happy monday, Namaste.

Even though hard summer was a major burn, I still have a sour taste in my mouth from missing Jack Beats. Especially considering he's not playing again in the US until at least mid December, may these tracks last you the long cold winter until then.

The line at Nocturnal may have taken three years, but the music was definitely worth it. Glitch mob killed it with their live set, and of course Laidback Luke tore it up. Dj Dan and Donald Glaude were ridiculous though, sick beats and way entertaining. As always there was never a dull moment, enjoy

So this saturday was Nocturnal Festival, another Insomniac event back home in Cali. So while I was at a "Straight Out of Compton" Themed House Party playing Glitch Mob over youtube my friends were out at the NAS center hearing this shit live, along with the likes of other greats Rusko, LBL, Rank 1, Bart B More, and Foamo. So if you were there here are some songs I'm sure you heard, and if you wern't well at least you can plug into these tracks and imagine how awesome it must have been. Dueces...
